We were delighted to welcome Bishop Will, Bishop of Lewes as celebrant at our Mothering Sunday family communion service at All Saints church Plumpton Green on Sunday 14th March. The church was as full as social distancing and government protocols would allow, with others following the service on line. The Bishop blessed beautiful posies of flowers expertly prepared by parishioners Jean Eagle and Cherie Winchester, and Josephine Butler led the prayers. Organist Judith Miller provided the music including accompanying soloist and churchwarden David Dawson. The Archdeacon of Brighton and Lewes, Martin Lloyd Williams preached an uplifting sermon which had the congregation in stitches at points whilst reminding us about what we all owe to our mothers. It was good to meet the new Bishop, his wife and children and they asked if they could come again. We welcome new faces to any of our services with a warm welcome assured.
